This year's Roastee is none other than vocal powerhouse Anjelika "Jelly" Joseph.Jelly is one of the more versatile, powerful singers and entertainers on the scene today, particularly after the smash success of her hit song “Fya” along with HaSizzle.She grew up in New Orleans with artists like Irma Thomas as role models. After making her performance debut with “O Holy Night” in 12th grade, she soon jumped to Bourbon Street clubs to cut her chops, appeared on “American Idol,” then partnered with friend Tarriona “Tank” Ball in the eclectic, Grammy-nominated upstart band Tank and the Bangas as backing vocalist.Joseph is now commanding audiences around the world as a solo artist, in partnership with HaSizzle and other bounce artists, and, most notably, as lead singer with the funk jazz jam band Galactic. - Kurt Metzger
- Kurt Metzger is one of the most talented writers and stand up comedians today. A Philadelphia native, Kurt started in the local scene with friends and comedians Kevin Hart and Big Jay Oakerson. Kurt moved on to New York, where he performed regularly at New York’s top comedy clubs, including Stand Up NY, Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club, and the famed Comedy Cellar. A crowd favorite, he was accepted to Montreal’s prestigious Just For Laughs Festival, where he was a standout performer on their ‘New Faces’ show. Kurt has appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, VH1’s Best Week Ever, CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Showtime’s White Boyz in the Hood. He has also guest-starred in IFC’s Z-Rock as well as Comedy Central’s ‘Important Things with Demitri Martin.’ A prolific joke writer, Kurt served as a writer for Chappelle’s Show as well as the Comedy Central Roast series. He also became a series regular on Comedy Central’s animated Ugly Americans series, providing the voice of Randall Skeffington. Kurt released both his album Kurt Metzger Talks To Young People About Sex and his Comedy Central one-hour special “White Precious” to strong reviews from both comedy critics and fans.

- Punkie Johnson is a comedian and writer from New Orleans, Louisiana who joined the cast of SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE in 2020. She also appeared on season 2 of HBO Max’s critically acclaimed series, LOVE LIFE, where her performance was hailed by Time Magazine as a “particular stand out.” Past credits include SPACE FORCE (Netflix), A BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW (HBO), and BILL BURR PRESENTS: THE RINGERS (Comedy Central). Punkie also served as a writer/consultant on Peacock’s upcoming series reboot QUEER AS FOLK.
